Teatro Malibran

LIVE MUSIC. LIVING FILMS. premiered on 3 September 2025 at Teatro Malibran in Venice, during the 82nd Venice International Film Festival. The idea behind the evening was direct: take the imagination already contained in a musical performance and make it visible. Not with a pre-edited video, and not with musicians forced to stay locked to a screen, but with a film that reacts to the music as it is played.

The premiere brought together Maxim Vengerov, LaFil Milan Philharmonic, and conductor Marco Seco for a program including Ravel's Tzigane and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5. The interactive AI movie was created by OOVIE Studios with Dustin Hollywood and Reza Sixo Safai of MASSIVE Studios. As the musicians shaped the performance, the film responded: the visual story changed with the phrasing, the tempo, and the energy coming from the stage.

That is what made the Malibran launch feel different from a traditional film concert. The screen was not there to decorate the music. It was part of the performance. The AI worked like a tool in the hands of the artists, helping turn interpretation into image while keeping the live moment intact: unpredictable, human, and impossible to repeat in exactly the same way.
